Raison d'être

As I lost the great battle
In the darkness of the night
I lay on the bloodied earth
Without life and defeated

A man approached me and said:
"Arise, warrior, and live!"
Yet I did not move
In Death's grasp I remain

My friends came and said:
"Breathe, brave one, and go!"
Yet I did not move
In Death's grasp I remain

Everyone then came and said:
"For the love of God, undie!"
Yet I did not move
In Death's grasp I remain

When all seemed lost,
A light flickered in the dark
And my muse arrived
As beautiful as beauty itself

In her angelic voice, she said:
"For our love, you will live."
And then my hand held hers
And Death was no more.

PS
For my muse and my angel,
The reason why I live
