The Road

I stand before a dark, grisly road
Where the vines entangle dreams
The dry air suffocates beauty
And the shadows kill innocence

Many dared to take the road
Never to come back again
As the road stretches eternal
And forever inescapable

The ones who dared
Were not brave nor bold
Neither were they heroes
Or champions of the kings

The ones who faced the road
Were simply the ones in need
In need of a bed and a home
And a warm meal in their stead

But what was the cost of luxury?
Which the road happily provides
What possessions must you give
and what things to sacrifice?

For this beautiful exchange,
The roads ask for one thing
A rare flower you must give
And the Road will be satisfied

But the flower is not ordinary
And cannot be found on gardens
It resides inside every young girl
And such blossom grows only once

Once taken, it cannot regrow
Once given,it cannot be taken back
Only young girls can take this road
And give the flower of their innocence
